Description GREEN SCHOOL BELL - This bell was donated to the museum by Gertrude and Fred Prince in 1986. The school was originally located where Savoi Road meets Green Road with an 1870 enrollment of six 18-19 year olds, six 16-17 year olds, seven 14-15 your olds, five 12-13 year olds, thirteen 10 year olds, ten 8-9 year olds and thirteen 5-7 year olds - all called to class by the peal of this 150 pound bell. The original bell was purchased for $15 in 1878. Miss Maria Cole, a 19 year old graduate of the school in 1866, returned to serve as its teacher for the 34 week 1879-80 school year for the grand sum of $162.
